Synaptics Pointing Device

You're smart to question any application you find on your computer that you didn't purposely put there. There's always the possibility of some kind trojan horse virus gaining entry to your setup. I'm a computer tech for the government and I'm very careful about virus and malware creeping into my network. After I install an O.S. I check the 'Program and Features' option (in the control panel) after I load and run every application. When I work on note books or tablets I use an mini Atek mouse, this mouse always auto installs a Synaptics Pointing Device Driver that shows up in windows 'Program and Features.' If you have added a similar device (keyboard, mouse, speakers, webcam, etc) your finding this driver is probably legitimate. If you've added no new hardware or no new driver updates, be vigilant and research further. Malware marketers often emulate legitimate brands to infect your computer. I'm very careful and I've been infected before in that manor. Good Luck.

Is this Synaptics Pointing device what is making my zoom change, my windows computer search window pop up, and my window jump up and down on my laptop when typing in smaller windows like this? They all happen with the slightest touch of my touchpad and I can't "make" them happen on purpose.. they only happen when I don't need them to. These actions are driving me absolutely crazy! Ever since I upgraded to Windows 10, I have been experiencing these annoyances. If so, can I uninstall it?

Ehh. Honestly I wouldn't delete that.. You'll most likely delete the driver along with it. But yes like the guy said above me you most likely do have a laptop as well as me.. And hey that program is pretty darn nifty considering the fact that it has a lot of pretty cool helpful tricks... you can check it out by going in the control panel and then click the mouse icon.. and when in that click on the tab called device settings. and when in that... click in settings.. haha kinda confussing but you'll see what i mean when your in it ;-)
