After installing iTunes 7.4.1 and being told to restart I did (I'm not saying iTunes has anything to do with this). Rather than rebooting my PC just shutdown, went past the dell POST screen and then just sat there with a flashing cursor.

I thought there must be a boot problem, so I started the Windows XP recovery console (I have WinXP Pro SP2) and chose to FIXBOOT and FIXMBR, as well as running BOOTCFG and checking all was well.

Restarted and still no luck. I went into BartPE (a version of WinXP you can boot from CD-ROM) and find that my drive C is still perfectly accessible. I've swapped the hard drive now for an old one I had lying around that had WinXP on and this is how I'm using it now - what can I do to check what's wrong, and what can I do to fix things?

When I type in the pixels size 760x375 its smaller than the correct size. The canvas is smaller than normal. How do I make the canvas the correct size as the one I typed in?

I know it has to do with ram memory and I know a lot of it is needed to run vista right? How much DDR2 is best?
One more question would yall go with an HP desktop for $549 or an acer aspire for 599? HP has athlon 64x2 dual-core 4400+,lightscribe DVD burner ,2048 MB DDR2 ,320 gig HD, 15 in 1 media card reader, and Vista OS. Acer has 1 gig DDR2,Intel pent dual-core processor T2080 with DVD burner ,160 GB HD ,5 in 1 reader card, vista OS ,and a wireless 802.11b/g whatever that is?Will that wireless thinga majig need something extra to run it? like a station and a subscription? My cousin is purchasing a new desktop PC and I'm thinking about getting a tv tuner for one of the PCI slots (or getting a USB/external box with video capture capability) as a present. Now, she doesn't have cable, so I am wondering if one needs to have cable to use a tv tuner?

When you open Word on our Mac Mini (which I love) it goes to the project menu, and there is an option to make a new webpage. From what I can tell, it acts like a document, but you can preview it and it looks like a webpage. Can you add buttons and things like that? And also, can you email a completed project as an attachment to someone else with the same program, allowing them to see the page?

okay say this was the sentence:

My dog jumpsd over the fence.

so i have to go back and fix the word jumped.
so i put my cursor behind the S and press delete and add the E but when i add the E the D gets deleted.


if you dont get it here is another example of what i need help with...


here is the sentance:

so i have to go back and fix it to
"my sister likes to eat food"


but when i put the cursor after the O in to and type the letter E to spell eat the a gets deleted automaticly.

Put a formula in an excel spreadsheet, gives me the correct date. I e-mailed the spreadsheet to my boss, he gets an #NAME error. Same spreadsheet, same formula but he gets an error. Any ideas on how to fix this?

on the 15th aug, my computer went down, had to take it back to factory settings, unfortunately i cannot read my 1555 emails, i have forgot my password, this computer was won on a tv programme and BT installed it , after 1 year i changed to tesco, since my computer has started running again, my epson cx3200 scanner wont work , i installed the disc several times , printer ok but scanner wont scan, at my wits end, i need it for ebay.

Can somebody offer a suggestion. I am buying a basic desktop computer for someone who is dyslexic. She isn't good at setting electronics up (even hooking a monitor to a console). I can't help, since she lives a few hundred miles from me. What would be the best strategy to buy a new, basic desktop computer (console, monitor, keyboard, mouse, cheap printer) from someplace (store, company, chain, etc.) so the place I purchase it from would also come to her house and set it up for her? I don't want to spend more than $400-$600. Is there a 'one stop shopping' place that would do that? (She lives in Philadelphia.) Or would it be better to just order a computer sent to her place, and hire an independent technician to set it up? Thanks.

The computer will still boot up, and I am using it to get on the internet, but when I try to use my word processor, the hard drive starts to make a grinding sound and the computer locks up. What should I do? Should I try to reinstall the word processor/office software--I know I will probably have to replace the drive eventually--but will unstalling/reinstalling the software help anything?
