Insert the Office CD, when prompted, select Personal Installation, and check out all the garbage but WORD. (This can help you out with new or the old WORD) you need to install it anyway!!!!

I've had the same problem I never cared after but maybe you could email the install file for the program by email and install on the new computer or go through a cd etc.

I don't understand. Microsoft Word is PART of Microsoft Office.

But to answer your question, no, there's no way to effectively move a program the size and complexity of Word from one machine to another.

If you want to copy it over go ahead. It will not work but you can copy it.

You really need the original install discs

Unless you have the installation disk or all the installation files on the old PC then no, you can't
