I have a Canon printer and am looking to save a bit of money by buying original printer ink cartridges online. However, I'm a bit skeptical about it - the price offered is about £3 lower than normal, could these cartridges be fakes? I've heard of people selling fake memory cards for digital cameras which look very much like the real thing, but do you think people would sell fake cartridges??

I have a belkin router which connects fine, but I am unable to connect to the internet on my pc, as I used to before I got a router. It seems both the modem and the router will only work when plugged into the same place, so they wont work at the same time. I read somewhere that I no longer need to use the modem provided by my ISP..is this correct? And if so, how do I connect to the net on my pc, where do I go? Thanks in advance

i need to know if there is any way to arrange a column of cells according to how many numbers and letters there are in each cell.

i.e. cells containing least amount of numbers and letters go to the top and cells containing more go to the bottom.

does anyone know if there is a way of doing this?

I remember catching some bit on a computer show about how the host said that he never turned his computer off, because it was hard on it to startup and shutdown all the time, and that it was better to just leave it on all the time.

But I'm beginning to wonder if this person was wrong, and it is better to turn it off at night? It seems like it accumulates alot of dust and hair around the fans too. I wonder if that was the cause, and is there a way to fix that?

Can someone help me out with my (multi-part) question?

My daughter has just upgraded her Desktop Windows XP with 1gb ram, had a router connected but uses a new laptop with Vista o/s in a different part of the house thats fine, but she cant connect to MSN on the desktop. The Computer Technician that installed it for her seems to think its her AVG free & Comodo Firewall is the problem. He`s taken the Tower away saying he will put on a Security prog , but she will have to pay for it. Is this the possible answer do you think. Thankyou

If I have AVG Anti-Virus, Ad-Aware 2007, and Windows Defender, does that make my computer pretty much secure? I had CA Security but it was just too much hassle to use. I don't really want to buy anything.

I want to stay with XP for my first computer build.

What's your opinion of Windows XP OEM (as opposed to the Retail version)?

Should I be concerned with 32 or 64 bit? What does that mean? And which should I buy?

Does the motherboard need one or the other? I don't want to buy a mobo that requires 64 bit after I buy the 32 bit....if this is a factor. Is it?

I was chatting in a Yahoo chatroom, and all of a sudden hundreds of IM windows started popping up. I had to manually shut down the computer. In retrospect I should have left well enough alone, but like an idiot I went back to the chat room to yell at the jerk who did it, and of course, not to be disrespected in his virtual chat-kingdom, he sent another thousand or so IM windows my way. Now when I try to start my computer, I get a blue screen error message: "unmountable_boot_volume" and somrthing that says "Technical info ***stop:0x000000ED(0X83B00C08, 0XC0000032, 0X00000000, 0X00000000) . . . I've tried going to the set up by hitting F12 while it's starting up, and starting in safe mode, but I get the same error. What do I do?!?
