Wow, that sounds messy. I bought a little hand chess game and I had to turn it off and on twenty or so times before I got the electrons out of the memory, I guess that was what was happening. Only off will do, not sleep or hibernate. It doesn't hurt to run an anti-virus anti-spy ware program either. Most of them do both. Microsoft has a free version of Defender that does fine, too fine, two to six hours. Sometimes a key on the keyboard will get stuck and the computer will get squirrely, nuts I guess that means, or a mouse button won't work right. And if your using beta anything, it signifies a test program. They often have bugs. You may have couple of things like those at once. Sometimes a website won't work and you go back later, even a day or a minute, and it works. I have to push real hard on my mouse button or at a different angle sometimes. Most devices have bugs in timing or something and we tend to fall into the habit of doing that very thing, I guess subconsciously it is grabbing our attention. So we went over bugs, squirrels, viruses and mice, I guess that covers the biology of it anyway. It's hard to get an answer here as there are so many computer question. Asking in different interesting ways and at different times get better result, if nothing works. At some times of day or night you get more answerers than questioners and it makes a big difference.

Try downloading JavaScript (free) and (re)install it. Some browsers (like Firefox) won't let you download the latest version of Flash Player. If you can use a different browser to do it (IE), try that.

Javascript is used for making the buttons work.
