Hiya.I've just changed over to BT Total broadband option 3 & i couldn't be happier.I've got the Norton Security package as part of the deal - it has anti-virus, antispyware & the firewall all included.I'm also running the latest version of Ad-aware.
I had Spybot S&D & Superantispyware running as well but the BT guy who installed my broadband uninstalled these 2.Apparently Norton running with these can cause conflict & aren't needed.
My Q is - is this enough protection online that will allow online, shopping, surfing etc safely? Or do i need other security software downloaded to add to this? If so can you recommend something suitable to a newbie? Many thanks Jackie.

i go to install the express one, and in the set up it says "if you want to uninstall service pack 4. then theres a option do not archive " now, i want to install service pack 4 not uninstall... or am i missing something? thanks.

any suggestions for a decent laptop under $1000? i want something that i can type papers, do powerpoints, download music from itunes, and use kodak easyshare software, with wireless built in. i hate my current laptop because it runs too slow. i want something that turns on quickly and opens programs quickly.

I'm looking into a good desktop computer. My price range is 1,000 to 1,500. Maybe just a little more. I want to be able to run AIM, Zune, Internet explorer, and an online game like Counter-strike or WoW without lag. I've heard alienware is best for gaming, so if you agree, then my question is which one is best for my price range? Also, I mean a whole computer, not just parts. Hi. My Gigabyte S-Series mainbourd has 4 SATA ports and only one IDE port. My problem is that my current hard drive and cd/dvd drive are both IDE however with only one IDE port I cannot hook both of them to the same port. Where can I get a sata cd/dvd reader/writer drive? The stores in my area are Circuit City / Future Shop, BestBuy, PC Club, CompUSA, among others whom do you recommend I buy the drive from, what brand should I get, and why?

I have a spreadsheet that consists of information about donations to an organization and the names of people who gave the donations. These two kinds of information came from different sources and are linked by an ID number. Each donor may have given more than one donation, but each ID number is identified with only one name.

For example:
Donor ID Donation Amount
1 $500
1 $400
2 $900

Donor ID Donor Name
1 John Doe
2 Mary Smith

I would like an output that sums all the donations that one person gave, like this:
Donor Amount
John Doe $900
Mary Smith $900

So what I want is a function that does this: "Scan all cells within range, and sum all of the cells within the range matching the criteria I specify."

SumIF does not do this because it will not add individual cells to the total, as far as I can tell; it will only sum the whole range if the criteria are satisfied.

I am helping my friend with her computer. When I click on Copy in the SmartPanel of her Epson Perfection 1660 Photo Printer, we get a runtime error that shows Program: C:\Program Files\Epson\Copy Utility\Copier.exe and says "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information." I reinstalled and still have a problem. I contacted Epson and a week ago they said someone would get back to me. HELP!! The website didn't have a patch or download for this.

I'm a graphic designer who has just launched a new web site and need help with writing that will be published on the page. Usually, I would say that I'm a good writer but recently I've been so overwhelmed with getting the website created, up and running that I have serious writer's block when it comes to trying to sell myself. Hope that didn't sound perverted but I hope you know what I mean. Is there a writer out there willing to exchange services?

I create Websites and layouts, web banners, logos, flyers and work with image manipulation, do touch-ups to photos and create graphics that are both accessible and aesthetic.

Every time i play Sid Meire's railroads it keeps crashing. we Have an emachine w3050 with amd sempron 3000, 1.5 gb ram,geforce 7600gs card, and 80gb hard drive, You can play for a little while then the system crashes, also running windows xp. Downloaded the available patches, but to no avail it keeps crashing. Any help would be welcome other than stupid answers..

System recovery i think is the process i must use. Since ages my computer hasn't let me sign into any sites like hotmail, ebay facebook and i've had enough i want a new start, where can i find all the original setup files for my software, i'm going to save my files onto dvd, any other tips? Should i just save the whole folder "program files" onto dvd?

My Memorex 52MAXX 3252AJIv2 and a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR 112d won't burn cds or dvds. They both read regular cds or dvds or burn ones as well. When I insert a blank disk into either of them Windows won't automatically ask me what program do I want to open the blank disk anymore. Whenever I would insert a blank dvd into my dvd drive it would change from "DVD-RW" to "CD Drive" now it just stays "CD Drive". I have tried the following already: Reinstall drivers, Check cable connections, Scan for virus, Clean Registry, Updated WIndows w/ current updates, Use System Restore to go back several days, downloaded latest drivers from the manufacture's site, Firmware has been updated, Use other third party software. If I try to burn a cd or dvd the software that I use will promt me to connect a recorder and restart application. When I uninstall drivers and reboot system Windows detects the drives but still same problem. Can't seem to find the problem. Any suggestions will help. Thanks

Ok so i went to buy this computer from Bestbuy. On the information box it said 3.2ghz, and everything else was really cool on the computer Dual core 2. ATI X1250 2G RAM.. anyways i go home.. and check out the website to see my computer again before I go pick it up tomorrow, and now i see on the internet it shows me : 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E4500 (800MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache)
But the model is the same thing!! how is this 2.2ghz??? IM SURE i saw 3.2 ghz on the paper at the store... i was wondering.. is it possible that 2.2.ghz core 2 duo makes it into 3.2ghz?? in other words.. is the comp still good?
Here is the computer on this website that shows me diff specs.
