Wow lots of crazy stuff here, Vista is still 32 bit unless you get 64 bit which you can also on XP. Intel is using 64 bit on all the porcessors. As for running games, intel is usually better, matters the rest of the items more now a days. Personally I go with Intel, the chips are just built a bit better. Yes I do have both Intel and AMD processors, AMD is great for short times and in burst. I do more then just burst so I like intel. But AMD is a lot cheaper so if money is an issue go with AMD. Intel has the higher L2 cache on the chips.

AMD all the way. They gave Intel the protocol for making twin center and sixty 4 bit processors out of a company generosity. Intel, regardless, nevertheless tries to harm AMD's company. Plus AMD is ALL-AMERICAN! Intel is Israeli. If that's not convincing sufficient then purchase Intel for the warmth factor generated, then you certainly would be wanting an area heater/ pc. AMD continues to be lots cooler! Oh and that's lots cheper!

It depends. If you have Vista, you need a 64 bit processor. New software coming out will also require 64 bit processors. Dual core processors are fast, but they aren't made to handle 64 bit requirements.
