Since ages my computer hasn't let me sign into any sites like hotmail, ebay facebook and i've had enough i want a new start, where can i find all the original setup files for my software, i'm going to save my files onto dvd, any other tips? Should i just save the whole folder "program files" onto dvd?

Re-installing the operating system is a good idea. To reduce the amount of problems you're likely to have you should consider the following:

1) Do you have the installation files for all the programs you're wanting to use after Windows is re-installed? If not, and they are important programs, consider trying to do a repair instead of a clean install

2) Do you have all the license and product keys for the operating system and programs? Again, if not, try to repair instead of a clean install

3) Do you have all the drivers for the hardware that is installed on your computer? If not, try downloading them and saving all those files to a separate CD or DVD before reformatting the drive.

Saving the program files in the "Program Files" folder isn't going to guarantee that your programs will work just by putting that folder back on your computer.

If you're concerned and you have a second... unused... hard drive, put that drive in the computer and leave your current drive alone. If it goes wrong, you can just put the hard drive back in your computer and it will be exactly as it was before.
