Google Earth - photo tags?

Is it possible to remove the photo tags from my view on Google Earth? There are so many of them they obscure the sites I'm trying to view.

Yes, go to 'Layers' on the left side of the page and unclick the box titled 'Geographic Web'.
You can select/deselect other layers as well.
