I use Windows Media Player to try to burn or copy CDs onto my computer. However, it never works. The error window says "Windows Media Player cannot rip one or more tracks from the CD." I can't figure out why. I have tried other CD burner downloads, but they didn't work either! I have tried many CDs, but none of them work. If nobody can answer the question, please give me a good free CD burner.

I am building a computer, from scratch, and I dont know what Kind of power supply I should use. It's an ATX case from Xoxide, and since this is my first computer building project, I want to make it good. http://www.xoxide.com/x-styler-case-blu.html that is the link for the case which I am buying, and there is a power supply option to have ti sent together. I have a wifi laptop and when I go places I hook up to any unprotected wireless modems around. Can they see what I am doing / looking at on the net? If I go round to someone house who I know, and I access their modem by typing in the encryption key (if the have security) can they then see what I am looking at?

My comp won't play any disks at all. It had been playing cd's, dvd's and games before but now it acts like there's not one even in the drive. I've tried several different disks and even cleaned all the disks.

2 part question, thats 1- it signs off when I shut the flip and signs back on when I open the flip (screen). also, the wireless internet router is in my room. literally, when i go into another room with my laptop, i lose signal completely- do I have a B airport extreme? will a wireless usb G adapter for macs fix it?

I'm not sure whether I have PCI or AGP slots. I have tried googling but cannot find any accurate sources. I went to the actual Compaq site and said I have 2 PCI slots and 1 AGP slot...so confused. Please Help.

Hi all,
Hit a bit of confusion as to what i can and can't put into on of these wee beaties CPU wise...
Intels downloadable "what chipset is it?" tool, is telling me it has an i945GV chipset with a 775 LGA CPU socket. and will support either an 800/1066Mhz FSB.
however, CPU-Z tells me it is a rev2 i945GZ that will take a 533/800Mhz FSB.
then sisoft sandra tells me, supports multiprocessors,current FSB of 4x200Mhz (800Mhz), Max FSB of 4x 267Mhz (~1066Mhz).

so just for a giggle, i upgraded the bios to the latest available on HP's website, and plugged in a 775 socket Core2Quad 6600. nothing. just a red flashing powerlight. drat. plugged the 2.8Ghz P4 521 back in instead. all working. now a working machine is much better than a non working machine, but can this machine be made to run with core2 CPU's? the chiupset supports it, just seems to be the bios...
