Go to http://support.hp.com and you can type in your model number and download the software driver for the printer.

2 ways. Either go to the HP website and download the driver, or setup your printer and let Windows find it for you.

Go to HP Support & Drivers http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html, enter the type of the printer (deskjet 5550), then on the next page click on Software & Driver downloads. It will take you to a page where you can choose the operating system used by your computer then to another where you can get the driver from.
