I use Windows Media Player to try to burn or copy CDs onto my computer. However, it never works. The error window says "Windows Media Player cannot rip one or more tracks from the CD." I can't figure out why. I have tried other CD burner downloads, but they didn't work either! I have tried many CDs, but none of them work. If nobody can answer the question, please give me a good free CD burner.

Most Cds now are copy protected and standard programs will not let you rip or copy them. I'd google for a program that will let you take the encryption off.

Which version Windows Media Player are you using ?
The new version is 11. You can find it out and install it into PC.Besides, you have to find more two programmes : "K-Lite Codecs Pack" and "DirectX 9.0c update in April 2007"
Good luck !

Your CD drive may be broken, but it could be as simple as a loose cable. Make sure the cables in the back of the CD drive are plugged in tight.
