I switched from DSL to Comcast because I thought it would be faster. From what I have experienced, it seems slower. Does anyone else think it is slower?

Whenever I sign onto AOL and click "read" to open my mailbox, my computer beeps, the screen lights up with colors, and the computer restarts. I have updated virus protection and I am not really having any other problems. Anyone know what this could be? Thanks.

Lately, I've been looking up a lot of japanese stuff, ever since I've been into Japanese drama and anime and song artists and stuff. Usually, I have to translate it on google but there are still some of those boxes replacing Japanese characters.

But, lately, I've started seeing Japanese characters on my computer where I think I should see those boxes. Is my computer starting to recognize the characters since I'm looking at so many foreign website? How does that work?

(don't ask me why i care. I'm curious, that's all).

when i turn my computer on, and reaches the point where it say "windows XP" and there's some sort of a bar below it that says its loading ... after that my screen goes blank and then nothing happens. but my cpu is still running. then it shuts down.

i dont know whats wrong with it. that's how it is everytime i switch it on ...

I have a particular website that I have built using a single main page with content include files that are inserted into the main page with include(). I have used a rather long switch command to decide which content file should be inserted. Basically as follows:

$page = $_GET['go'];
switch ($page) {
case "1": include("content/home.inc");
break;
case "2" include("content/about.inc");
break;
etc.... }

I currently have about 25 case statements, which seems very cluttered. It is also a pain to update the switch statements every time I add a page.

Is there an easier/less complicated way to do this?

I'm trying to enable my laptop to act as a monitor and keyboard for my desktop computer. Can it be done? And if so, what cables and configurations would I need? I found a site where someone had accomplished it using a PCMICA card with video input, but I don't know the specifics on those cards and which I need, so if you have an answer for that dilemma I'd be very grateful.

I'm very new VB.net and I don't know how to do ANYTHING. All my previous experience is with QBasic. So, could somebody give me an example of how to say, on clicking a button, "Hello World" pops up. Okay I had purchased a laptop awhile back ago and I have had this kind of problem with the monitor every once in awhile and I was wondering if anyone had any answers that could help me out to make it stop.

Okay my question is mostly, I have this problem with the monitor screen. It seems to happen when I am mostly on the internet. Also I use wireless connection that I am using through a flash drive which came from our desktop computer in the basement.

And here is my problem, every once in awhile when im on the internet or just on the computer d when im in the middle of something the entire screen will like go into a screensaver type of mode just mostly the whole screen goes black but you can still see the light that is being projected and the power light is still blue so its on.

I try hitting the start button still nothing will happen I just have to eventually crash the entire computer.

And my battery settings are set to balanced and are all set to never.

Do I have to have the files open to back it up on the Jump drive? Or, do I just go into My Documents and everything in there will get backed up? I will print the answer with all the steps to get it right. This is totally new to me and I really need to do some serious back up.

I have a problem - The bookkeeper @ school needs to keep track of books. How do you remove a picture in Powerpoint's background? Below are the steps that were used to insert a picture:

1. Format, Background
2. Fill Effects
3. Picture
4. Select an image and apply

How do you then remove the image once it's applied/saved? ie so there are no image at all.

Normally,I would just double space myself however,I'm used to single space and it would be hard for me to remember.
I did hear something about a double space option but I don't know if its on Wordpad or another program.

i have a E4400 overclocked to 3ghz using 1.37 vcore but including the vcore drop the load vcore is 1.29-1.3

My load temp from TAT is 62
from core temp 0.95 is 65-66

stress testing is fro orthos

Can you guys estimate how long my core2 will last.
and do you guys kno which one is more accurate tat or core temp.
