Degauss the screen if you can. Depending on the power of the magnet, it may be screwed for good. Don't do anything that stupid again, ok?

To fix your problem you need to degauss the monitor. It will perform a degauss cycle every time it is turned on. Often there is a degauss option in the OSD menu too. The caveat on this is that it takes the degauss circuit about 20 minutes to cool of between hits, so turning the monitor on from cold and then hitting the degauss button is only one effective degauss cycle. (When you turned it on.)

If you do not see any improvement after 5 or 6 good degauss cycles then, technically speaking, you have buggered it up good and proper. Take it to a TV repair shop and they will be able to degauss it with a much more powerful degauss wand or ring.

Uhm first off dont ever put a magnet near a computer. Its a surefire way to wipe a hard drive. As far as your problem, I would say to let it be because trying to get it off is just putting you at more risk.
