how do i uninstall mcaffee? it is saying to uninstall legacy programs first.?

ever since we installed it we are unable to click on links can not pull up websites and the computer is running very slowly.it will bring up the page and blocking out info. it says that it is unable to do anything because of the settings???? any ideas?
