I am looking for anti-virus & anti-spyware programs that are super efficient but don't sap your wallet or bank account of your dough. Please, NO fraud sofware. I know there are people who false advertise crappy software.

my computer has gone unusually slow. I have heard something about registery errors, but do not know how does it affect the performance of my PC. I would like to find out where ( what sites) someone has been to while using my computer. The person I am wanting to check on has figured out how to delete the history, so I can't do it that way. Is there another way for me to find out?

BIOS at startup of IBM shows BIOS and video are shadowed. How do I turn this off?

I thought I browsed all option on my BIOS but didn't see it. Is this because BIOS went to default setting where it was previously set to start off a network?

when setting up the home network using the xp guide, I put in the usb memory and download the file then install it on my laptop but I don't have a usb slot on my modem router as the xp guide advises so I'm lost and don't have a clue about setting the bloody network up. Also my Olitec modem router and pci card are french and they of course don't do a manual in english. I managed somehow to get it working once and then a virus caused me to restore to a previous point and I lost all the settings and haven't a clue what I did right.
The Windows XP set up program is bloody vague and confusing. Maybe that's just because i'm inexperienced.
can someone help?

I am alomst positive that some1 has put a spyware program on my PC, (jealous spouse whom I am divorcing) but he access to the PC when he is here w/ the children, I know he has done it before, but I dont know how to find it. It'll be the type that he can view all webpages I have visited, including email, and pages with security locked accounts.. HELP!!

I'm trying to set up a wireless home network, but my modem only has a usb output and my router has no usb input, only a dsl one.

What do I need to do to be able to use them together?

My computer picks up the wireless network fine and the internet works on my laptop, I just need to be able to get the router connected to the internet.

There were problems in the include file C\ program files\spybot search destroy\ includes\trojans.sbi
See ` includes errors.log' for details.

If this is a trojan I would have gotten it from here on Yahoo Answers. funny thing is : Spybot says"congradulations No threats were found..Can you help me? Thank you~

Here are the details. My roommate has a cable modem, I don't. I bought an ethernet cable that runs from his modem to my computer and I know I have the cable connected right. Problem is, my computer still won't connect to the internet. It says it has limited to no access. How do I fix this?

I have a 300 GB hard drive I want to add to a Compaq Presario 3800. When I open up the computer, there seem to be wires for additional hard drives. Wanting to see if the drive would even be accessible, I plugged it into my external drive... The computer recognized it. However, it only recognized the drive as being 128 GB rather than the full 300. Why? I vaguely remember being told I would have to purchase some sort of card to allow full capacity recognition of the drive. If true, what card do I need to fit my computer?

Also, what wires, etc. do I need to purchase in order to install the drive into the computer internally?
