I have a Dual-Core AMD 6000+ and Windows XP.
I'm considering upgrading to 64-Vista but I'm wondering if I will see a big difference.
Will Vista 64 take advantage of the Dual Core?

no 32 bit windows handles dualcore just fine ... 64bit is theoretically better but the problem is there isnt much driver or software support yet and its more for power users that dont mind the aggravation ... u want 32bit trust me ..

Actually both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Vista can take advantage of the dual core. I've tried both and 64 bit does have a slight advantage, but I would recommend you staying with the 32 bit because not many programs can be installed in a 64 bit environment yet.

Before you do it, be sure that 64 bit drivers exist for the hardware you have. Many vendors have not released 64 bit versions of their drivers, without them you won't be able to use the 64 bit O/S.
