I heard a recent report that Firefox is less secure, but it only takes an average of 1 day for them to patch up security issues when they are discovered whereas MS IE is more secure, but takes an average of 9 days to patch up security issues when they are discovered. Also, IE has been said to infect your computer with viruses/worms simply by clicking on a link...is this true? Is the security situation out there as bad as it seems?? I have a computer that might not be as private as I thought so I would like to see if it has been turned on while I'm gone. Is there a log I view showing time and date my computer was turned on?

Also, what is the best way to lock down my computer? I am using Win XP and have 4 usb ports which I understand make the machine vulnerable.

I hope there is a way to totally stop access to the machine as the computer expert in the family will take it as a challenge to get in.

Ok, I have the bank of america toolbar powered by earthlink, & I want to uninstall it. I went to my control panel> add or remove programs> & I can't find it at all. It's not there & I can't find it anywhere. I also went to their websites & it doesn't provide any suggestions other than the one I tried to attempt. Can anybody help me with this?

i would like a new motherboard, and i would like an amd chip. My mate has mentioned to get a 939, but there are also 940 out now, which support ddr2 also. Is the 940/ddrs the wayt o go?

i used my hard disk to check another computer and fixed as secondary master after finishing job i fixed it again on my own pc as primary master but the bios detects it as sceondary master and when i want to install yahoo msgr 8 it installs in "f" drive and messege pops up "C" is not accessible wheras my windows drive is C.how is that?i am unable to intall in "C" drive

I have two computers in my house ( one xp pro and the other xp home both sp 2 ). I connect to the internet via dsl broaband using a little box that has a wireless arieal, the box i think is called the router.
I would like to know if it is possible for me to get a home wireless network/lan set up? and how to go about it.

When I click on restore for my ipod on itunes, it says ipod is restored but within a few minutes later it says ipod is in recovery mode and needs to be restored again. What do I do? Also on my ipod it says use itunes to restore and I have tried to use itunes to restore but it doesn't. Please help me.

Ive have been trying to play a game called spellforce 2 but it keeps freezing up on me. The error message I am recieving is "vpu recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands." From what I have found on the internet that most likely means my vid card is overheating. I have checked the temps and my GPU temp is usually around 35cel. (95f) and when i start the game up its gets up to around 115 to 120 farenhiet, thats usually when my game freezes. Sometimes even around 111 it freezes. Are those normal temps? Is it overheating? And if so what do I do to fix the problem. My card is a Radeon 9600 128.0 MB. Its what is recommended on the box. HELP! Oh, and I have a fan on motherboard, fan on side of comp, fan on top of comp and fan on vid card.
