Depends on your definition of "BIG" in your question. If you mean by big how popular is the internet then of course it is very popular if you can afford it. However big in terms of any physical measurement of size I do not think it is possible - probably some wizzkid will say different. To me without any research on the topic but just what I think having read your question:-
The internet is just like infinity a concept not something that is physical. Our computers and hardware are physical but the internet is just a concept - that is what I think anyway.
However another way of looking at it is that the internet is the soul of all the hardware around the World - can you answer how BIG is a soul - I think not.

Well the internet is really immeasurable. It exists as a collection of computers, servers, and other devices that all connect at once. I suppose you could put all of those things in a room and figure out how big they are together, but that's still not really the internet itself.
The internet doesn't actually exist in a physical form, so it's hard to give a finite answer. I can tell you that there are hundreds of millions of computers, servers, and other pieces of equipment that the internet is comprised of. And it exists while they are all connected, but if you were to disconnect everything at once, there would be no internet at all.

Someone switches on an internet connected PC, server or device - it grows - they switch it back off, it shrinks - no way of physically measuring this 'happening' so you can't really ask 'how big is the internet'.
It also doesn't have a 'unit of size'!

It is as large as the amount of servers out there, and the storage on those servers.
