Help! Ipod Trouble?

When I click on restore for my ipod on itunes, it says ipod is restored but within a few minutes later it says ipod is in recovery mode and needs to be restored again. What do I do? Also on my ipod it says use itunes to restore and I have tried to use itunes to restore but it doesn't. Please help me.

You could try refreshing it by holding down the middle button and the menu button at the same time. Do this when its not hooked up the computer though.
