I have SpySweeper installed and there are certain files or programs that keep putting themselves back onto the startup list of items. I keep un-checking them, but they still keep re-checking themselves after a short while, back onto the start up list. How do I get rid of these files/programs once and for all? The add/remove programs is not the way, that way simply does not work, as the files/programs are not listed.

We all know that some of the spyware software can scan and detect the problem but cannot be remove the detected treats and you have to pay for it ( coz you have to buy their product online). I installed the "e-wido anti spyware " but it can remove the treats and other malicious spyware? or just like other spyware that you have to pay for it before you can remove the detected treats? thnx in advance.

Hi Macfans!

I produce a series of magazines on Mac using Quark, Photoshop and Acrobat Distiller. I used PCs up until recently (bit of a Mac newbie), and have just discovered AppleScript which I think can make a lot of difference to my workflow.

I have it working with great success within Photoshop but need help setting up one for Finder i.e not within any particular application.

What I need is a script which says "when a new file is placed in this particular network folder (by someone else), send an email with notification of its arrival (preferably containing the filename) to this address" or activate some other type of alert or popup.

I need to know where to get, or how to make, this script and also instruction on how to implement it - and any other tips you Script-heads out there may have!

I am attempting to defrag my hard drive and it doesn't go any higher than 1% and then back to 0.I pull up the details and it is just a blank screen, no boxes no nothing.I know there are supposed to show me clusters but it is totally empty.

i hate tennis and i do it a lot. my counselor really wants me to stop playing it because he knows how much i hate it, and its making me sad. but, before i tell my parents i hate it and dont want to do it anymore then i will have to replace it with something, and i cant think of anything. i could get a job bagging groceries or something for a few days a week but there needs to be something more. i love video games, and am good with computers. maybe i could mow lawns? They are sex sites on the internet.I have recieved 3 and are nasty.They showed women in my town that are sexy and single and one for desperate house wives.I am a female in a serious relationship with my fiancee.It is alarming that someone can get my email and send these especially if they do not know where I live.It was hard to explain to my fiancee that I had no idea who this is.They will send these emails and when I go to email them to say stop emailing me,the address has been deleted.My fiancee said:well you must of been to these sites or something,why else would you get these emails".I am very hurt and confused as to why I have been targeted.How do I stop these emails???

ok well seceral years ago i had a picture viewing progam that had a tropical bird as the icon on the desktop let u look at pic on ur computer that have been downloaded was free sownloaf the pic viewer was i need ro find out them name it is the best i have ever seen. u could adjust color or brightness just like any expensive program that u bought but this on was free so if anyone can tell me the name of it i would appreciate it very much.

This is making me CrAzY! I'm sure it is so simple that I am making it hard. I already have DSL(3 yrs) through Centurytel w/Netopia modem they provided. Now I want to hook up 3 more computers(all XP) in my large home. My main computer w/DSL has no slot for ethernet so it is through the USB port. My dilemma is wireless or not. And what the heck is a HUB?? My home has a down stairs w/phone lines in all rooms(11). What is a complete list I will need to hook up all three to my DSL? 2 downstairs. I mean a list from the Ethernet adapter down to wiring, routers, modems, hookups, wall plug ins etc. Should it be wireless? My home is really big. I have asked Centurytel and they rattle off something that sounds like foreign language to me. I need this in plain dummy terms. The brand name and a list of all equipment I will need to purchase. 6 months I have been intimidated by this. I hope someone here will just lay it out plain and simple, I would appreciate this so much as well as my family.
