Ask them to open a file (send them a picture of your dog, for exemple).
When they opened your file, start>run>cmd (or command in Win98). Type netstat -n and look at the last entry. (you'll get there IP).

There used to be an option where you could right click on the messenger window and view the person's IP but that was removed for ovious reasons. Why do you need their IP address?

I'm curious why you would want their ip address too. I could see wanting their email address but the ip address I'm not sure why you'd want it so I'd be interested in hearing that.

start --> run --> cmd
netstat
then look for the yahoo port and it'll tell you the ip if you have an open connection.
