I just came from my 4th toy drive/ride. This was just a little one sponsered by a local pub, but I've been to a few big ones.

Tonight there was one guy on a V-star and one guy on a GSXR and like 50 Harleys.

The ratios were comparable at the larger runs too, 10 metrics to like 300 Harleys.

Why don't the sport bikers and metric bikers want to participate in these charity events??

I'm looking at getting a Suzuki SV650s from a garage near where I live. I've got a 125cc scooter at the moment meaning it's quite a big jump, so I'm not quite sure I'd want all that power available to me just yet, so how do I go about restricting the bhp of the bike? Thanks

When I picked up my Superglide on 01 July 06, I was handed an extra piece of paper to sign. It was an addendum to the owner's manual, altering the primary case oil change interval to 5K miles and requiring an inner primary bearing change at 15K. This is supposed to be a no charge replacement as the factory requires it. Apparently the bearings are examined for wear. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it still in effect? I asked the Service Manager at the dealership nearest me, and he said he didn't know anything about it. I gave him a copy of the addendum and he said he would get back to me. Haven't heard anything yet.

I know we have some actual HD techs around here - any input?

This winter I plan to move two harley touring bicycles down to Florida from michigan. Its about 1000 miles. The two bicycles weigh 2000 pounds total plus the trailer which is 1400 pounds. I have a 2002 ford explorer V6 4.0 4 wheel drive with a 1 1/4" receiver. Should I upgrade to a 2" receiver? Will my vehicle make it?

I moving further away from a job I like and want to decrease the additional drive time. A motorcycle seems the best way, but what kind ? A dirt bike with street tires, or just stick to a street bike ? The main goal here is to cut thru traffic, because work starts at 5:30pm which puts me in the thick of rush hour, and not spend an hour on the road with the increased distance to be traveled. Any ideas and thoughts, anyone ?

cleans the carbs (all worked on by Honda shop). I've noticed that my front forks have a leak but its only a small amount of residue. I've spent approximately $1,500 doing all the repairs listed above. The bike has approx. 26,000 miles.

My main question is: I really don't want to shell out the $400-$500 in replacing both forks right now. Since the leak isn't bad (only small residue of oil), how much longer should I ride before I really need to replace them so I won't compromise my safety?

What constituents a bad leak on the fork seals? Lines of oil running up?

Thanks for your responses.

P.S. I haven't experienced any braking problems due to the fork seals leaking yet (as I read on other websites).

I live in San Antonio, TX. I received a ticket from SAPD for having mufflers that are too noisy. The officer claims that my mufflers were not legal. When I went to court, the judge told me that I have to provide proof that the mufflers were properly installed and legal for street use. Do I have to go to a dealer to get this or can I get this done at an authorized state inspection place? The mufflers are after market, by the way.

When changing an oil filter you put a little bit of the old oil round the seal. Might it be better to put some of the new oil round the seal instead, since the old oil is usually full of crap?

I bought a sporty for my gf, got about 20 miles and it began pinging, then knockinging, then died. It seems like it lost compression since it rolled pretty easily in gear.

It had been sitting a long time before I bought it. I put fresh gas in it and thought It could wait until I got home to put fresh oil in it.

Does this sound like it could be lifters, piston, or valve problems? Yes, it's getting spark and gas.

okay i think i saw it on a ford page..not sure

it was a two-wheeled motorcycle that had the thickest tires i have ever seen. and the engine was from a car or something..basically, it was the most devilish motorcycle i had ever seen. i think it was a concept or something that the makers were just playing around with..i know this sounds stupid..but the makers said that they just popped two wheels along with an engine with A LOT of horsepower onto a frame, and just did it for fun.

any ideas to what im talking about??

I am from Michigan and looking for a motorcycle tech school. I am willing to move and I like the sound of MMI but some people have said that there are other schools that cost significantly less. Does anyone know of any schools or have a list of them?

What type/size bike would I be looking at for a 5 year old? He's 3 feet tall and about 35 pounds. Also for my other son; heis 13, about 5'6" and 140 pounds... they will both be learning/beginners... so I'm assuming durability would important.
Any suggestions on dirt bikes would be great!
