I just bought a '06 Kawasaki Ninja 650R. When I get on I can hold it up fine with the front of my feet but should both my feet be flat on the ground?

Looking at selling my 2000 Suzuki Bandit within the next month or two. I just put new tires on it within the last 4 months. It has a new chain (as of yesterday). It has some scratches on the right side of the ferring and a little on the pipe and engine guard. Doubt there's much I can do about those. What else can I do to make my bike most appealing to get the best price for it?

I dropped the dang thing while scrubbing the carbon buildup off the crown, and it landed on it's skirt and flattened it ever so slightly - but enough to keep it from being reinserted into the cylinder. The piston crown fits into the cylinder nicely about 4/5 the way in, then hangs where the flattened section begins.

It's aluminum, and I think I can "re-round" it, but that's still stressing a part that's been 'stressed' already. BSA Starfire/Triumph TR250 parts are interchangable, but rare enough for me to consider 'fixing' what I have. Or, should I chalk this up to searching the internet for a replacement piston?

I am a short female (5 feet) and a new beginner in motorcycling. I am looking to get a sport motorcycle and I have found that Kawasaki Ninja 250 R has the lowest seat height. It is about 29.3 inches high. I also found that I can lower the seat as well. Could the dealer do this? If not, does anyone know a good garage in Detroit Metro who does this?

Bought it used, the guy had it warmed up when I got there and we rode it home. It's now the next day and I tried to start it up, and it barely idled, and when I gave it gas it died, I switched the petcock to reserve and it started and drove ok for awhile.

Basically, I am asking "What are the symptoms of a low gas tank?" what are the common ways it acts and all that. may seem like a silly question, but I'm new to these big bikes.
I'm filling it up later anyways. but knowing the common issues with a low tank will help me in the future

Ok this is just a general fun question, the place can be any road anywhere but it must be real
Faves of mine are the 1000 Island Parkway nice twisty road not too bad and runs along the ST lawrence river. Another is old highway #2 in eastern Ontario for the same reasons. Lastly the Antrum coast road in Northen Ireland fantastic ride sections for beginners up to TT riders outstanding scenery.

I got something in the mail from them yesterday. Apparently for $1 a month, you have access to their website, can test motorcycle gear and keep it after filling out a report on it, win prizes, get a magazine, get gas rebates, discounts on tools, parts and services, preview books and dvds, etc.

My antenna are humming with suspicion - where's the catch? Does anyone out here belong to this? Is it as good as it sounds or do they bite you in the *** somewhere along the line?

i have de restricted the bike by cutting out the cone in the exhaust and cutting a larger hole in the airbox. i then put a 105 moain ejt int eh bike. but it melted a plug. too richen it up a bit, we put a bit of air filter foam over the airbox inlet. seemed too help. anyway, today we got a 120 jet, removed the foam and went down the road. got upto about 70kmh and it just went brrrhhh then died. feels much like its seizing, except it doesnt. i held on. then i let off, and the revs drop and it runs mint again. the plug is white. and now i ahve put the foam back on the airbox, it ticks over slightly lower.and afetr about 1/2 throttle going along it hesitates and misses.
helllpp!

I ride a 1997 ninja zx-6 and this is not my first low side, but i dont realli know much about checking for mechanical and technical things. I checked over major areas like the clutch cover, etc. and there are no leaks. The bike does start and changes gears, but there seems to be something off and can't quite figure it out. Also there seems to be something off with the alighnment of the bike and suspension. How do you check for these errors and other errors. Is there a checklist or something. I would rather not have to take it into the shop unless necessary because it gets rather expensive. Please can anyone help me out?

I have a 1998 shadow ace 750. The tire on now (front) 120/90/17 . Am I able to put a 140/80/17 without any modifications? I understand that if it has the stock front fender then it should. Does anyone know for sure?

I've noticed that a lot of people who advocate wearing protective gear all the time usually make comments about chaps. What do you do to protect your legs? It's time to retire my old leathers, they're all worn out. On Monday, I bought a jacket I liked. Textile, armor, etc, etc... The old chaps are as bad as the old jacket and get tossed too. What do I replace them with? New leather chaps would seem silly, even to me.
Suggestions? Recommendations? Tall stories, even?

In the process of trying to figure out what's wrong with my bike I've installed 2 inline filters for each fuel line out of the petcock. They are the clear kind so I can see what's going one. Here's the deal. The front filter never fills more than a few mms while the rear one fills right up to the top and stays that way. The bike runs great for the first 5 minutes then it just loses power, almost like when a plug goes bad. I'll let her sit for a while then take her out a few hours later and same thing. I'm wondering if the symptom of the filters is a hint to something that's going on and also, most importantly...

WHICH fiilter is behaving normally? Should it be filling up right away and staying that way even when the bike is off or should it always be almost empty like the other one?

BTW, I swapped the filters just to make sure it wasn't a bad one but they just did the same thing again.

Since I bought my bike a year ago, I haven't done much to try and learn basics but the thing is I don't even know how to start. And it's really hurting me because problems with my bike are coming up now. I thought the best way is to make friends who ride and hang around them and pick their brain. But even in La Puente where I live I don't know how I can look up bike riders (online or classifieds?). Any words of advice on how I can get a good knowledge? Thanks.

Just use the OEM Harley stuff, or is there something better for V-Twin motors? Also how often do you guys change your oil? I put on about 5k per summer and figure change it at the beginning, middle, & end of the riding season. 'Bout right?
