My brother had given me a custom built rigid-framed chopper that i want to sell the #'s match on the frame and motor, its somewhere from the 1970's to 1980's do i need a title or registration for the bike if i sell it??

it has tags from 1980

If its never been tagged before you gotta bring the statement of origin from the manufacturer of the engine and frame to motor vehicle. and they will issue a special construction title. If its been tagged before they will do a title search. It is worth more with the title but you can still sell it.

You can apply for a lost title from the DMV from those VIN Numbers on both the frame and Motor that you have already. Once you have the title you can sell. Does the Bike have any tags on it now? Use this info and get a registration from that.

Here in Ohio you would need a title to sell it legally AND to get the most money out of it.

You have to establish title for any vehicle you sell.
You might need documentation from the previous owner if it hasn't been re-registered since the transfer.
