I never do, with street parking the parking spot is parallel to the curb and I put my bike in the middle of the parking spot. At the mall I usually just ride in and again park in the middle of the spot.

It is easier and safer to pull out foward as opposed to pushing the bike out of a parking spot. Some people drive around parking lots like maniacs and we are hard to see.

Um, because it's easier to take off FORWARD on a bike, than back it out of a spot into traffic ( more dangerous ) .

If you are parked near a curb your back tire is supposed to be resting on the curb per vehicle code (atleast here in CA).

some streets are angled to the curb and it makes it difficult to push back out to ride away. where just like any experinced rider or driver you look for an easy way out before you get in , you look and recognize trouble before you get into it. try pushing 700 lbs backwards uphill.

Because they don't have a reverse gear, we bikers have to turn the bike around and push it into a spot.

When pulling out of the spot, it's safer to pull out foward and not have to look over your shoulders for traffic.

No reverse to get out... so its easier if you back in.. the road slopes toward the gutter so you can roll backwards into the park & drive out... if you drive in.. you have to push it backwards to get out..
