Head out towards the ocean to Santa Monica and then head north on Hw1 to (1) Topanga Canyon or (2) Malibu Canyon or(3) Tuna Canyon. Great rides but a ways from Orange County. Another way to go would be up towards San Bernardino and into the Angeles Crest. Great mountain scenery.

In Louisiana some roads are falling aside, yet they only appropriated a gaggle of money to restoration 'em. you may desire to examine the form indications, which includes I-10 east of Lake Charles, and take a detour on US90, previous Iowa to US one hundred sixty five north returned to I-10, to the 40 4 go out. east or west. Texas TxDot seems to think of each and every new overpass for freeways desires a dip on the part to empty water right into a trough then to the part. Makes for a million inch of water or larger pool with heavy rains, or JARRING JUMPS for all automobiles. See US59 south at WestPark in southwest Houston. Louisiana has a reliable bounce on a flat bridge on I-40 9 south with reference to the 162mm (or a hundred and sixty). A tractor trailer can get 6 inches at 70mph. Texas is repairing I-10 east of Vidor, vibrations have been reliable there.

could always take hwy 1 up or down the coast. how far do you want to go?
there are some really nice places up in the mountains east of LA above San Bernadino (spelling?) ... or up around Tehachapi above Mojave... but those might be a bit of a drive just to get to those from OC ...
Santa Barbara, Solvang, Monterey (but likewise, pretty long trip)...
worked for about 2 years in Mojave (lovely, eh?) and that was the starting point for alot of my adventures.

The big biker oasis of OC is Cook's Corner.
Try Salvadori's book. He details 35 routes, many of which are in SoCal. You can link shorter routes together for longer trips.
