1985 Yamaha Virago 700. The new stator has three wires coming off it, and they're not connected to the plug. The new connector plug has left, right, and bottom connectors. Does it matter which wire goes to left, right, bottom? If it does, how do I tell them apart; they all look alike?

I have an 81 yamaha xs 850. I just changed the clutch cable because it was too hard to pull the clutch. It improved a little but compared to my friends' bikes it's still too hard. Do you know if I can use any kind of lubricant on/in any part of the bike?

granted: somebody is gonna call me a squid just for asking this but after you call me one, could you explain to me what it is? also realize that calling me a squid is the most generic and thoughtless comment you could make relative to my question. like "duh, somebody was garenteed to say it and think it's just the funniest thing in the world HAHAHAHA your so funny, you kill me, get it? i ask what a squid is and you answer me by saying i am a squid....HAHAHA your hilarious, that's so funny, you should stop riding motorcycles and be a comedian. "
i just wanna know what yall are saying when you call each other squid. got it? thanks

Thanks for all your previous help. I now have my bike going again. another question regarding my bike. Could it be restricted in some way. It's a 1988 model. And it does run quite well. But it lacks on power. Exspecialy on excelaration. i get the revs up. Pull away and it just seems to die. And when im ridding. Open up the throttle but not much happens. It has been fitted with a nexxus pipe. I have replace all the pkugs and oil. It ticks over ok. But the power does not seem to be there. Can some one help.

I want to get my first motorcycle. I will be finished tonight with the MSF course. I have been looking at a used Honda Shadow, but it is $3500. By the time I save for it, I am afraid I will have lost valuable time training. Should I get an older, cheaper bike to learn better and save for another bike, or should I save now and buy a Shadow?

My son has a Harley sportster w/ a 1200cc upgrade.
It starts & runs OK for a while then , overheats & quits.
Oil pressure & flow look OK.
No smoke.
Is this common with or without the 1200 kit.
Limited funds.
There a good way to diagnose without having engine torn down?

I have an old Honda CL360 that I inherited from my grandma and would like to start driving. Last year I had it running for a short amount of time and remember that the engine made a "pinging" sound. I have read that this means that something needs to be adjusted and it isn't good for your bike to run it like this.
I also remember that it ran kinda rough and backfired every so often.
What do you think?

I'm looking for a motorbike to start learning on. Just not sure which is the best one to start learning on. I have had a little bit of motorcross experience, not sure if that will help with road rules though lol. Anyway i'm quite a light weight so not sure if that will effect what size bike I should look for. It would just be to get me from " a 2 b ", no stunts, Maybe the occasional couple of hour long rides. I've thought about an FXR 150 but not quite sure. Any opinions on what I should look for...?
Thanks

If I get a Japanese cruiser do I have to pretend to believe { Harleys Suck} to be accepted by other metric riders?

Also, if I remove all the fasteners and re-thread them and replace them with U.S. bolts ,would it still be a {Metric} ?
