Call progressive or whatever company your car is on, and ask how much it would be to add it.
It's going to be expensive. I'm 21 and I just got quoted $2,658.00 for a year.

Also, I assume this is your first bike? I would NOT recommend an R1 for a first bike. You're going to get yourself killed. Start out with at most an R6. A suzuki SV650S would be even more ideal for a first bike. Get a year or 2 of riding in, then go get a faster bike.

I know the R1 is an awesome bike, but I doubt you could handle it. I know I wouldn't be able to.

If you're under 25 and getting a literbike, you SHOULD be worried about insurance! Especially life insurance!

You must be REALLY good, fella. I mean, to only have four years to go from new driver's license to being able to handle a superbike in traffic! Gosh, it MUST be true- there ARE exceptions to the rules, and you are obviously SO much more careful than 99.9% of every other rider out there that you can handle an R1!

Come on, you MUST have grown up on the racetrack, right?

to echo above, and to add to it, to try and $$ money; if you are with state farm, and have a car policy (in some states, just a home owners; or life insurance policy is enough), then your motorcycle insurance can go down.

but, yeah, you're 20, a nearly brand new r1 and you dont state what state you live in...be prepared to pay through the nose.

Cool bike! The insurance will probably run you about $1000 or better a year because of your age.

The best thing to do is to go to a site that will let you submit your information one time and bring you back quotes from lots of different companies.

Some insurance companies don't consider young people to be the high risk that others do.

in case you have had your license for decrease than a twelve months and are attempting to insure an '07 R1 then finished coverage with the aid of many agencies can run you in excess of $7,500 a twelve months. State farm has dirt low-priced bike costs in case you could meet their standards. additionally you're able to be able to desire to have a vehicle insured with them... in the adventure that your checklist is powerful then it may desire to be nicely worth figuring out to purchase a beater vehicle and insuring it with them in basic terms so which you would be able to get the motorcycle coverage

HMMM? 20 year old 1 liter superbike. I checked at progrerssive and they spit out a qote of 3100 bucks. That is w/100,000, 300,000 coverage and $500 ded. comp and collision. Hope that gives you a better idea. Unless you are made of cash I would get a bike w/o the letter(s) R or RR anywhere in it.
