My car idles at 2000rpm so I took off the air cleaner assembly and checked it out. It seems that there is a problem with the throttle shaft (?) because it sticks if it goes down more than a quarter or an inch. I have to pull back on the throttle assembly in order for it to return to normal. Even after I do that, it still idles around 1500rpm. Is this normal in the first few minutes of operation?

How do I get it to idle normal and stop the shaft from sticking.

It's as if fuel is not getting through. This doesn't happen all the time, though. But is happening more frequently. I have a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria.

I currently own a 2006 Hyundai Sonata LX with a 3.3 liter, 6 cylinder engine. I drive about 12,000 miles a year under normal conditions. I live in New Jersey where the temperature COULD range from zero in winter to 100 in summer. I have always used 10W30 engine oil all year long and never had a problem. I recently got a new mechanic and when I had the oil changed (in December), he put in 5W20, which I questioned. He said that 5W20 was what the manufacturer recommends in order to obtain the best mileage and this multi-weight oil can be used all year. I checked the owners manual, which said either 5W20, 5W30 or 10W30 could be used. I know that if the temperature falls into the single digits, it's better to have a 5W oil in the crankcase than a 10W. In summer, however, if temps get into the mid-upper 90's, the 5W20 oil will turn to sludge, since a 30W, or even a 40W is needed for these high temps. From what I've read, a 5W30 is best for winter and a 10W30 is best for summer. Am I correct?

To pay autoglass to replace my smashed passenger window after a break in without losing my no-claims bonus on my insurance?

Given the time of year, do you think I could get it done cheaper or is this a pretty good offer?

I want to get a car fixed at a place that offers really low rates. Unbelievable rates. (It costs less to get it fixed when they use their part than if I brought my own part in) So anyways I was quoted over the phone a really decent rate. Then after I digged around I found out there might be a diagnostic charge, which is ok by me EXCEPT I dont want them diagnosing & fixing anything else.

Im doing this as research before I buy a car and that is why I have to make sure I can trust this before I buy the car.
The person I want to buy the car from claims it has nothing wrong with it except the steering pump. But its a 98 so I'm sure there are other things wrong but it is still driveable. I am going to get a carfax with the VIN but either way I dont want him messing with anything else other than the pump.

How can I make sure he doesnt pull the wool over my eyes and make me pay more when I come to pick it up? Can you get a contract or is that unreasonable? What should I put in it if
