With regular servicing and oil changes, a Norstar should be good for 150,000 to 200,000 miles before needing any major work.

These 32 valve northstar motors are good motors but keep an eye on coolant levels. These cars have head gasket issues, and having a motor job on these isnt cheap.
Other than that these are pretty reliable motors.

the northstar is a good engine and it will last as long as you take care of it.

It will last over 200,000 miles easy if is well maintained like any other engine. Is expensive and somewhat hard to repair when it breaks.
