I don't race too often but my car is all stock right now
92 civic cx
pretty slow
concerned about the high mileage engine
a friend recommended a new intake for me
should i get a short ram since i dont race and run my RPM hella high or anything

Everything was ok with my car until this morning that I tried to start the engine but it didnt let me and "check fuel cap" turned on. I checked it but it was tightened and everything is ok with the cap, but it still doesn't let me turn on the engine. please help me

i have a 1987 chevy caprice with lil minor rust in the paint but hardly noticeable and the hood faded a bit from the sun...u think if i wax it it will just make the paint worse or will it protect it?

my sister has my car right now [ a 99' honda accord ]
she has it until i can drive alone, the maintenance light is always on . before it'll blink when you start the car but then it'll go away . i keep telling her to get it check out but shes so caught up in her "perfect life". i was wondering what are some things that can happen to my car so i can tell her so she finally go gets it changed? . and if she dont get it changed and something bad happens to my car . she better get me a new one!

My car started making that grinding sound a couple of months ago & my husband purchased & replaced the break pads himself. The car was doing fine for about a week & then started making the grinding sound again. Not sure what is causing the sound, he took off the wheels & inspected the area & still doesnt know whats going on.

Anyone have any suggestions?

i just had a small accident and going to get pricing on it tomorrow for repairs. I was curious as to how much people think i am looking at so i can prepare myself. the only damage that was done was the right light is busted, a small dent right next to the right side of the light (approximatly 4 inches is dented in), and the left side of the light (where the car meets the trunk) it is warped up about 1/4 of an inch. nothing else was done. thanks

i purchased a car with 3 locing bolts in it, the guy had lost the key to get them off so i had the car for a bargain, i have managed to get 2 off but the 3rd bolt has been chiseled and the key i found at a scrapyard wnt sit in the bolt tidy as its bene chiseled. how can i get this off as i need new tyres?

Engine does not turn, initially it sounded as starter was stuck tried bump starting but to no avail. Also noticed following when turning key headlamps flashed although lights not on, electric windows and wipers will not work. somebody told me you cannot bump start bmws, is this true

I've always just used regular oil in my 03 Toyota Corolla but just once i tried using the mobile one oil that's suppose to last 15,000 miles. I only used it once but would it be bad for my car in any way to switch back to regular oil?

I helped a friend of mine buy a used car about a month and a helf ago. She got a really good deal, on a '03 Elantra in great condition. Just a few days ago a faint smell started coming from the back seats. In just three days since we first noticed it, it has become unbearable.

It is an unmistakable smell of disposable diapers, as though the previous owner left a stack of wet ones on the seat. The guy who sold it to us had it professionally cleaned, but that obviously didn't do the job... any ideas?

My 98 Camry with 125,130 miles had a compression reading as follows: What do they mean? Should I keep the car? The specs is 178psi or more and the difference of 14psi or less per cylinder.

I recently change the timing belt, accessories belts, and water pump without changing the thermostat. Would the thermostat create problems in the future? Thanks very much for your help.

I understand the math part. I would like to know how the vehicle computer dose it, how dose the vehicle know how much fuel I have added, dose it have a flow meter in conjuction with the odometer. Is the computer looking at real time (like the mpg at that instant) or is it a product of time? Just how accurate is it?

I was wondering if blow-by is caused by having bad piston rings or if a bad valve guide could be the problem?. I was looking at a 94 saturn Sc2 for my sister. The engine had such bad blow by when I took off the oil cap with the engine running to see how good the oil pressure was the oil cap poped out of the valve cover hit the hood and landed in my hand what could cause such bad blow by?. the enigne seemed to be running fine. After the oil cap pop out, the top of the engine sounded like an old piston air compressor. I didn't buy this car but I just was curious as to what would make the engine do this?.

I have a 2001 Chevy Cavalier, 2.2 L, standard.
It all began when my 'Service' light came on. My little headlight light on my dash would flash and my Service light would come on. Then my 'Check gages' light came on. My temperature gage went all the way up. My Engine light came on. Throughout all of this, my 'low coolant' light was coming on sporadically.
We found that my coolant was overflowing. It seemed that my thermostat was bad. The thermostat was taken out.... we went to put another one in but it ended up missing somehow. We temporarily put something on my car to seal it so that the fluid wouldn't leak all over the place. When we did that, it was running fine and the lights were no longer coming on... but I still needed to get a thermostat.
The thermostat was put in today. We let the car run for like 10 minutes or more and it was fine. five minutes after I started driving it, my temperature gage went straight up to the top again and my 'check gages' light came on

I got a flat the other day and was riding around for a while on it and now my rims ar a bit worn. It's nothing to bad but id like to get it fixed before selling my car because when i put air in it the air comes out after about a day, but everywhere that fixes them is just closed with a be back sign or something. It's wierd but does anyone know a place around the metairie louisiana area. also cost and how long does it take.

I got the GM 5 year/75,000 mile warranty added onto my car with 27000 miles. Does the warranty run out at 75000 miles, or when the car hits 102,000?
