My battery died a few weeks ago and I got it replaced with a brand new one; but the car does not start now. The car turns over; meaning that the engine starts and the belts work for about 2 seconds but then dies. The radio does not seem to work. I talked to a person at Kraigen's and they said that the fuses were not blown and that it might be a starter, ignition switch or ignition coil that might have been blown. Anyhow, please help. . . I cant move the car just yet and I want to see if I can fix it b4 I go to the dealers or a mechanic. Thnx.

Here is the situation: I bought a 2005 Nissan Altima in excellent condition. In addition to the original powertrain warrenty, I have a 30 day guarantee where if any problem arises then I can get it fixed free. I noticed a slight noise when braking and a slight whistling sound when parked. For "peace of mind", I had them look at it and they said they found nothing wrong. So I had a second opinion and took it to a trusted mechanic. They identified that the rotors were not replaced when the new brake pads were put on which could explain the noise. Also, their is noise coming from the power steering pump. Upon returning it to the dealership with the second opinion in hand they agreed to have it looked at. The next day I get a call and they say they still cant find anything wrong and wont approve any work. What are my options if any?

I have a 93 Camry SE, spoilers and all the extras -- but theres a crack in the headgasket and theyre saying like 1800-2200$ worth of repairs here -- the blue book value of the car is only $2000 since it has over 200k miles. But the repair dude is saying my car should last another 100k miles. Do you think its worth it to get the repair?

My heater core seems to be some what plugged. I get very little heat into the cab. I have had it to the dealer but they want to replace it. I feel that it is just plugging up. Have checked the heat of the engine and it is running correctly. I get good air flow through the system but not much heat. I do know that the last time I flushed the cooling system there was a lot of rust in it. This is what I think is causing the problem. I can't seem to be able to find where the hoses are that go from the engine to the heater core. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Well, i know i need at least one new tire for my car but i dont know how many i need exactly.

I am aware that there are 4 wheels on my car i just dont know which ones need replacing. I also dont know what type of tire i need. Its a lancer and its fairly small.

So if i walk in there in my short shorts and say "hi i need some new tires" are they likely to try and rip me off because i have no idea what the hell i need ??

What i want to know is, how much SHOULD it cost me, what kind of tire do i need and how long will they need my car for?

Today i was about to go to lunch when my ford tauroas suddenly died. I turned it on a couple more times to see what was happening and it seems as if that if i take my foot off the gas pedal, the car slowly looses RMP's and dies. Right after it dies it displays the battery sign, but this battery is no less than 6 months old and my lights and the radio still work. Please if you know why this may be, let me know!!

**Also, its been displaying the "low coolant" (however you spell it) and when i refilled it, it did not go away.

Thank you.

It is a Mercury Sable 1996. I have change the pads, the caliper and the brake hose of this wheel (left rear) but every time the pads keep sticking with the disc. I checked the bearings and they look ok, there is not any play and run free (when I take the caliper out of the disc). Even when the car is cold the pads are still touching the disc but it gets worse when I drive on the highway at 70 mph, then this wheel start to make a noise (friction) and when I stop this wheel is hotter than the other ones. When I hit the brakes the opposite wheel brakes better than this one. Also when I brake on the highway the noise stops starting again when I loose the brake, this also happens when I change from the left lane to the right and the noise get worse when I change from right to left.

When its cold it doesnt shake much but once its warm than almost immediatley it starts to shake as if it was a damn muscle car. I haven't done a tune up in a while now but before i do it does anyone know or have an idea of what might be wrong with the damn car. OH and also; the overdrive button doesnt work anymore and its always turned on. Sometimes the car turns off when i'm pulling out of the drive way in reverse and I turn the steering wheel without accelerating it. Stupid car pisses me off! I need help!

i have a 2000 chevy blazer and it started making this bad rattling noise and i assumed it was coming from the catty converter because the vehicle has almost 200,000 miles on it anyway and soo after about 2 weeks after this started my sister borrowed my vehicle (the blazer) and took it 4-wheeling without me knowing and f*ucked up the transmission well the garage said when it took it in for the tranny repair it was just the valve body because of the Service engine light code and they also said that they thought the noise was coming from the transmission and that the tranny wouldn't last long making that noise but the transmission was fine b-4 she took it 4-wheeling in fact just replaced (it was making the noise b-4 she srewed it up...) do u think the noise is coming from the tranny or the catalytic converter? it does it in all gears sometimes and sometimes not... it REALLY hard to tell where it is coming from... i had the fluid & filter recently changed and it was normal red not burned..

Where do the dealerships go to get the cars all cleaned out inside and looking/smelling new again?

We bought a car and the upholstery has been colored on, the rug has been stained with food/drinks, I tried cleaning it myself but it still looks dirty.

How do I totally revamp the inside, either by myself or taking it somewhere?

Earlier today i was at a stop light and i was at a complete stop pressing on my brakes. All of a sudden my brake pedal depressed lower than it has ever been, and now i have to really step hard on my brake pedal. Also when i go to stop my Ford Taurus now veers to the right. Did my brakes go out or do i just need to add brake fluid?

car wont start with the keys

there are for connections on the starter solenoid. these are:
1.) the + from the battery to the solenoid
2.) the earth from the starter motor ground to the solenoid
3.) the wire from the ignition switch ( when in cranking)
4.) the wire from the + coil.

Ok, there is an internal connection in the solenoid. This forms a closed circuit when there is current in the switch wiring( when cranking) and from the battery + side as explained above.

I have tested the current going to the solenoid from the switch and it gives a reading of 12.15 V. I have also tested the voltage from the battery[12.37V] and have found a good ground on the solenoid producing 12,37V.

The car will not start. The Solenoid is NOT faulty. I have removed the starter and the solenoid from the starter and it worked well when not connected to the starter motor.

The car will start if you bridge the + battery with the ignition switch(in cranking position). Therefore the starter

I have a high-mileage 96 camry auto 4 cyl that gets a little bit of a shutter at higher speeds (55+) - I took it into a tranny shop last time this happened (20,000 miles ago) and the flushed the fluid and put in an insta-shutter fix additive. That seemed to do the trick, but now the shutter is starting up again. I've noticed I can pick up the additive at an auto parts store, but I was wondering if it is easy to add myself (if so, how do I do it?) or if it's better just to take it in.
