I have a 93 Camry SE, spoilers and all the extras -- but theres a crack in the headgasket and theyre saying like 1800-2200$ worth of repairs here -- the blue book value of the car is only $2000 since it has over 200k miles. But the repair dude is saying my car should last another 100k miles. Do you think its worth it to get the repair?

All good things must come to an end! You are talking about a car that is going to cost as much to repair as it is worth! If you sell the car, you will get something for it in the current condition! Take what you get for the car, and add the cost of repairs and get yourself a replacement car!
If you really want to fix this car, instead of replacing the head gaskets, you would be better off putting in a low mileage used motor, or a rebuilt motor! Once you do a head / head gasket job on an old engine, you usually find that the added stress on the bottom end will cause problems down the road!

Thats a pretty high bid for a head gasket job. I would shop around. It's all labor, the actual gaskets involved are probably $20. Too bad you don't know someone who knows how to do the job. Remember this though, something went wrong with the car to blow the gasket. If its overheating or having other problems, then its not worth fixing this engine.

It might be priced right depending where you at. I would say $2200 is really steep. The fact is, how happy are you are with your car, so fix it and you have a good car for maybe less than $2000 and no monthly bill.

A 93 with over 200,000 miles, have you owned it its whole life or was it used to begin with? If you owned it from the start and you keep up on the maintenance schedule if may very well be worth it, however there may be a lot more going on if it was used when you bought it. who knows what the owner before did to it.
My answer it depends, but it ain't no Honda!!!

It'd be worth it to get it fixed, but find a less expensive shop to do the work.

just put another engine in it if you like the car and feel you won't have to put any more money into it for awhile.
