I have a high-mileage 96 camry auto 4 cyl that gets a little bit of a shutter at higher speeds (55+) - I took it into a tranny shop last time this happened (20,000 miles ago) and the flushed the fluid and put in an insta-shutter fix additive. That seemed to do the trick, but now the shutter is starting up again. I've noticed I can pick up the additive at an auto parts store, but I was wondering if it is easy to add myself (if so, how do I do it?) or if it's better just to take it in.

Lucas or Justice Brothers are 2 vary good products........
Make sure you drain out the amount that you will install, pour in the transmission fill tube slowly and you will be set.
But it sounds like your tran is going out, and this is only a temporary fix.......

Lucus Oil Products makes a real good transmission addivitive.. Look it up on their website.. But this tranny simply take regular Dextron III. If it has a shutter, the trans has a problem..

Just to let you know those "additives" will not fix your problem they will actually make a bigger mess inside the tranny ,,but if fixing it isnt an option at the moment, then do what you gotta do// Yrs exp. in trans shop

Well you never want to overfill your transmission so it may just best to take it in one other thing whehn is the last time you had tires or an alignment done. It may be because you car is out of alignment or your tires are shot or unbalanced.
