I don't believe any state in the US checks for cruise control.

Each state has different laws for inspections. So knowing which state you come from would help us answer the question more effectively.

Cruise control is not critical in the operation of a motor vehicle, so would not affect the test. Replacing it is entirely a different subject. In many cases the problem is the transducer and you may want a mechanic to replace that.

nooooo one checks the cruise, if they plug it in because of an idiot light in the dash is on it would tell them it's the cruise and not an engine control sensor

i sold my car with no air conditioning, cruse control, leeking transmition,and a broken sun roof and the inspector didnt know!
