yes ide like to know if anybody would know why aftert i took my car got the fluid & filter changed, drove it to tenn, ran great got it in the next morning it was slipping real bad. took it to a dealer down there, they said it was shot because when they changed the fluid they put way to much fluid in the transmission, now the shop that did it is telling me oh when we changed it it had alot of sludge in the pan they said they guess it was due to the transmission being clean now, and the transmission things just went out because all the dirt and things broke loose in it, i'm so p----- im thinking about getting an attorney because i never Had Any tranny problems till they changed the filter & fluid, anyone having any advice on this i'de love to hear from you thanx, its a 94 intreped 3.5 litre, 101.000 miles on it

I am in the beginnings of restoring a 1968 Chevy C10. I've decided to keep the 307 motor instead of dropping a 350 in it and I'm thinking of stroking it. I've rebuilt several motors but haven't taken on anything like stroking a motor out. I'm wondering what are some of the major adjustments I am looking at?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated also!

I have a 2001 Nissan Altima and I think I'm going to have to get it tuned up. What is the average cost? Is there a specific place that I should take it? For example, is a dealer going to be better than a local shop? Or is the local business going to be cheaper? Thanks!

I had the U-joints replaced last year which solved the problem temporarily. Problem started back this summer and is getting progressively worse. Took it to the shop and they said that my U-joints were fine, but that it could be my rear differential going bad. So they checked it and said it needed to be replaced, so I paid them $800 to put in a new master rear end kit. Left the shop and the problem still persisted. The sound happens when I let completely off the brakes, it sounds like metal grinding on metal. It also happens when the truck comes to a complete stop and settles. It is very annoying and very loud. I can replace the U-joints myself, but don't want to spend the money if that won't fix the problem. Are there any other places I should check other than the u-joints and the rear diff. Like the struts, rear wheel bearing, broken leaf spring? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I had a funny smell in my H2. When I opened the hood, I noticed that the battery was smoking. I had the battery replaced and the charging system checked. The guy at the goodyear place told me that the volt meter (I think) was reading a 14.2. Is a 14.2 normal?????

My battery keeps going dead. Ive been to AutoZone and checked the battery, and they said its fine. They said the alternator was only putting out 1 amp, so I replaced it along with the cables, but the battery keeps going dead after a few days. Ive had the battery checked twice and they suggested I didnt need a new one. I checked the ground when replacing the cable. Does anyone have any ideas why this keeps happening? Even when the battery is fully charged, the engine cranks quite a bit and produces a whine and takes 4 seconds or so to start, which has never been an issue. I dont know if this is related though.

So i decided to get my A/C system checked today and it seems they found $500 worth of problems. I haven't noticed any change in my AC's performance lately though. I drive a 2000 Nissan Xterra thats never had much work done except for the usual oil change, alignment and so on... 103k miles.

The list is below but from what i recall the guy saying, one leak is where they connect their instruments to my car and the other leak affects the suction... my freon tank usually holds 1.5 lbs or somehting and i'm currently at 0.75 lbs.

my question is, are all these repairs necessary? will my car get messed up somehow if i don't fork over the cash immediately since AC is only going to be used minimally from now to next summer anyways? If it is necessary work, is the cost about right or am i being ripped off? Please help!

low side manifold hose (leak) $249
high side schraeder (maint) $37
receiver drier (maint) $136
evac/recharge $75
+ TAX!!
