I felt heard /felt this weird bump after turning the ignition off,then on my way home I discovered that my odometer had stopped working,I couldn't even get the dash panel ligths to come on then today I went to town and when I turned my vehicle off and on restarting the engine I learned I now have a working odometer and panel ligths again things seem to be working properly.What coud have caused this?

does it have tilt steering ? if so pull the casing down nd check the wires to the swicth . i had some thing similar where i tilted up and engine quit and down it would run. it was pulling a wire back and forth to make and break contact

its got a bad ground wire on it some where,,and it will probably do this again too,,i own a repair shop,,and i had one a few weeks ago that was doing the same thing,,i found a ground wire in under the dash that grounds the instrument panel on it,and it was loose,,after tightening it up,,everything worked fine on it,,your is built the same way to, this one was a 95 model,if you look at the bottom of the steering column you,ll see it down there,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
