If you buy a Haynes manual or Chilton's manual for you specific car it will have the diagram and instructions on how to change it..I hope that even though this isn't an interference engine that the belt is still on your car.Because a broken timing belt can still screw something up.
As far as adjusting it if it's not computer control the manual will also have the procedure to that also..But if it is distributorless and I think it is then you just have to make sure the crank, cam and maybe even the water pump pulleys are aligned correctly when you install a belt..Once again it's all in the Haynes or Chilton's manual for your car. Go to a Napa or Advance auto parts to find the book for your car.

You have me confused here! Are you attempting to adjust the timing or the timing belt? Two totally different issues.
Engine timing is adjusted by moving the distributor and the timing belt should have a tensioner on it. If the belt is loose then it's time for a new belt. I wouldn't be driving it with a defective belt as serious internal engine damage will occur if it breaks!

Pop the timing cover off and line up the marks, its easy. Or you can go to the auto parts store or ebay and get one of those chilton auto repair books. Just ask them where I can find the auto repair books.

I'm not really good at this and I'm very sorry if I can't help you. Maybe one of your parents or friends can help you out with it.
