14.2 is in the normal range for it,,that wasn't what caused the original problem on it,,i own a repair shop, and have serviced a lot of hummers and this is a normal charging range for it they have a high out put alternator on them.and need to charge a lot,,what i think happened is your old battery had a cell short out in it,,and this will cause it to over charge and boil the acid out of it,,just keep an eye on it for a while,,try turning your head lights
on while its running and see if the voltage drops a little,if it does its normal for it,,good luck i hope this help,s.PS ,,13.5 is considered normal for most vehicles and some times the regulator assembly will cause one to slightly over charge a little,if you see it go higher than 14.2 on it,,take it in,and have it checked out.

That battery voltage is normal. May have a faulty voltage regulator. Which is located in the alternator. If you have a warranty on it still. Take it back and tell them the problems you are having. Then, at least trouble shoot the alternator.

between 12 and 14,depending on what's on in h2,i think battery is getting over charged, that is burning it out.if it does it again, have them check alternator and regulator.
