Soon, I will be coming up to the 1 year anniversary of passing my driving test. After that date, I want to buy a car and get it insured in my name (I have not had any insurance before). Do I qualify for any no-claims bonus, as I have not made any claims in the previous year?

It's a honda civic. The people that stole it used it for a joy ride and some heavy racing. The lower front fender is scraped so it looks like they went over some speed bumps at full speed. What steps should I take? For example should I go to a mechanic and have him look it over and then have him fix it and bill the insurance company, or will the insurance company check it over themselves? Thanks!

Was hit from behing on freeway exit by a car going about 35 - 40 mph while i was stopped at the light. My Dr. has diagnoed cervical and lower back whiplash. The person hit me is insured and yes the insurance co has accepted liability. I am in CA and not sure what "soft tissue" laws are. Yes I am looking for cash settlement for pain and suffering. They have already put me in a rental car and my car is in shop being repaired. Out of pocket medical expenses are minimal for me because I have my own health insurance and only have a co-pay. Dr. also is having me go to physical therapy.

They turn onto a street with two lanes but the car turning right does not turn into the right most lane but instead turns into the left most lane. Meanwhile the car turning left form the opposite direction also turns into the left most lane and they both collide.

Assune this is California.
1) When a car turns, the car should/(or is it must?) turn into the left most lane when turning left or the right most lane when turning right.
2) Car turning right has the right of way, but this car was in a right turn only lane. Does right of way still apply?

Who is right? Who is wrong? Who will the adjustor side with if both parties deny liability?

I've never heard of this in this country. My Australian friends told me about something like that there, but this is news to me about us having it here.

If I had just parked legitimately on the street (in California) and opened the door, while another vehicle slams into it -- this accident should be his fault, right? The lanes, however narrow, should be designed to accommodate a properly parked vehicle plus the width of another car (regular sedan) plus the open door, presumably. Is there a simple answer to these type of accidents?

Thanks for your responses.

Patrol man, "Will my Insurance rates go up?" He said, "No!" I said, "Why not, when my car was being used while she got a ticket?
He said, "because she's the one who got the ticket"! I need real honest answers please.
