I've never heard of this in this country. My Australian friends told me about something like that there, but this is news to me about us having it here.

Yes, it's in all states. Get enough points and you can redeem them for no driver's license. Ask at your local police station and they can run your license. If you have no violations, you have no points.

Points are givin when you speed, or are the cause of some other "moving violation" ie DUI, Shipping illegal materials. Im not sure what the limit is on points but once you reach it they take away your driving priviledges. also the Insurance company uses these points to determine how much to charge you.. more points more expensive insurance.

When you engage in certain activities you get points. If you trash a cop car it is 100 points. Speeding is like 10 points, drunk driving is automatic suspension. When you get 1000 points you get a free trip out of the country or 30 days in the electric chair.

points are things that you do wrong while driving. for example; going 5 over the speed limit is 1 pt, 10-15 might be 2, etc. Also DUIs.
