Call a number of insurance agencies to get information about coverage and rates. Keep a list so that you'll remember who said what, and then make a decision.

Go to Progressive's website and find the best rate on the type of car you wish to buy, and then speak with a customer representative.

Go to an insurance agent. You will need to know the information about your car. You will need to pay for some of the insurance (it depends on where you go), and it will be pretty expensive.

It will be cheaper for you if you can be put on your parents policy for at least 6 months than for you to go on your own policy. How old are you? Geico (or a no name brand) is probably your best bet but after 6 months with them, start shopping!
