My wife is looking at getting a VW Jetta. What is the difference between the S series and the S "PZEV" series? The only thing I see different is 4 letters that adds a grand to the price.

I have a 1995 VW Golf Mark 3, manual transmission, and the idle speed appears to be running very slow. When I let off the gas, with the clutch in, it runs at about 0-200 rpm (not 2000). Also, sometimes when it gets too low, it automatically revs itself bringing it up too high, then dies. This makes it die everytime I put the clutch in. Does anybody know what I can do to adjust the idle speed in my car? Thanks!

I have read that it should run at about 900 rpm. Is this a good number?

Howdoes a '99 VW Beetle drive; particularly in the snow?

I found a used one for 7,995 with 75,000 miles on it.

I'm a bit weary as i'm looking for something with as few miles as possible; but this seems like a good bargain.

pulled up the windshield wiper. When I put it back in place, it doesn't work anymore. However when I use it with washer fluid, the motor turns the wiper blades. Does anyone know what went wrong and why the motor only works on the WASH option? If so, whats the cost look like to fix it?

I bought a used diesel beetle with about 85,000 miles. I was told i should get around 50+ MPG, but so far the best I've gotten is 47. Mostly around 44. I drive 90% highway at speeds around 70. It's a manual transmission. Do I have a problem? Should I be getting better mileage? How can I improve the mileage. I know all the basic fixes and have done them all. Is there something else i need to have checked? What does anyone think about additives to the diesel that clean and such? Thank sto anyone that can help.

The 2002 vw paast is the worst car I have ever owned ! I bought it and within 4weeks I had to change the transmision this took 4 weeks on the way home from the garage the ABS lite came on and now the ABS is actvated at 20km per hour.
This was 5 days ago now the engine lite is on again and blinking the car is shaking and has no power. I really thought when I bought it I was getting a good car I guess I will try and trade it in if I can find a dealer to take it.

I still owe around $5,000 dollars on it (and I have saved up$4,000). I am not sure if I should fix it and try and sell it. Sell it for parts? Sell the body? I know nothing about cars and how much I could get it for now. I am the second owner it has around 81,000 miles on it and I bought it when it had 25,000 miles on it. Please help!!

I can insert the key, but often can't turn it.

And, sometimes, even when I can turn the key to unlock all the doors, they are all frozen shut and I can't open any of the doors.

This does not happen on other cars (ie with other people I know who live in the same environment/temperatures), so has anyone heard of a design flaw or recall on this ?

Once in awhile my car simply slips out of gear when in high. Usually this is after driving, and bringing the engine and transmission to full temperature. It does not happen often and, when placed back into high, stays there. Only a once in awhile thing. Anyone know what the deal is?

Im going to look at a 2001 Automactic VW Jetta tomorrow but im not sure if it's a good deal or overpriced. It has 57,000 miles on it, the person selling it is the second owner and comes fully loaded. This will be the first car I've ever purchased so i want to know what I should look for when I am inspecting it. Also, am I paying to much?? should I try and lower the price?? to how much? Is this model know for having certain problems with it? how much would maintaince cost for the car? Also what kind of questions should I ask when i go look at it?
