New one? wel my was 1993 and i piad $2000.. for it..got 130,000 miles before it gave up the goust?? but was good runner, 30 miles to gallon of reg-gas....check up the oil light putin a new sensor ever thre two years espiecal in heat.... Az. heat...

1981 LS deluxe diesel, 2 door hatchback. Cost roll of fence wire and 15 fence post. Dead and living mice, 200 gallons of water inside, no extra charge. And yes VW's are water tight. Ground up rebuild, paint, interior, about 2K.
Next project 1984 rabbit diesel pick up, $500 with spare engine. What can I say, I just love getting about 45 mpg.

lol...$642 for my 1984 Diesel 4 door. It still gets driven everyday, gets 48 mpg, and Ive had it atleast 5 years. Oh and it never breaks down....only tires and a muffler.
