Vintage Volkswagen's are capable of running in the low 9's in the quarter mile. Wheelie poppin, rubber burning and all that good male stuff makes this a great all around car and to disagree with one post VERY DEPENDABLE. Check out Yahoo videos and type in Volkswagen drag racing and check em out. You will have a must better attitude about your car and a comeback for those that are not in know and are giving you a hard time. Go to search and type in jet powered Volkswagen and see what you find. Awesome video!

The old Beetles are sexual orientation neutral. Anybody can drive one. As for the New Beetles...
I can't say that I've seen many men driving them - gay or straight. It is definately a 'girl car', but that doesn't necessarily make it a 'gay car'.
The new Rabbits are cool. There are even little VW emblems in the headlights. The new Smart Fortwo that comes out next year is pretty cool too. The Mini is rockin'.

Hey.. I have a 71 beetle . It has a roof rack that carries my camping and hunting gear in the spring and fall, and my diving gear in the summer.
The passenger seat is generally occupied by a female companion.
now pardon me while I go chaw some tobacco, scratch my privates, and talk about some recent sports game where people kick out teeth and beat each other up between plays.
Oh yeah.. and get me a couple of cold ones..

I wouldn't neccesarily call it "gay", and I don't think that is a fair statement, but I do consider it more of a girl's type of car. But that's just my opinion...

Not in my area. Maybe somewhere else?? Although, I would assume, it's like any other car, people purchase what they like. You really are not labled by a car.

Okay look, screw everyone. Buy it and drive it with a smile on your face. If you think its still to girly(though its not), put a nice set of racing rims on it and a loud exhaust.
I strongly believe in the "talk sh!t and get hit" theory. :D

It is a girly car, but most small cars are. The Beetle isn't very reliable either.

unless it's lime green with a daisy in the flower holder, a man can drive it. its a great car, with plenty of head room. just get a black one. you'll be fine, when all your other friends are broke down by the side of the road.
