I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It has quite a few miles on it and I'm planning on buying a new engine. Do I have to get a Jeep engine or does it just have to be able to fit in the amount of space? I want to find a v8 or a newer v6 that has a lot of horsepower/torque in it. Thanks in advance.

The right headlight and fog light on my '98 Cherokee appear to be less bright than the other side. I've noticed this on other Jeeps while driving as well. The lights are always dimmer on that one side.

I've replaced the lamps and checked the fuses. I haven't checked the voltage to the lamps yet though. Any thoughts?

Car overheats intermittently. Have done the following:
Jeep dealer replaced thermostat - Jeep dealer replaced resevoir, and cap, pressure tested, system tested good ($460). - I replaced water pump, I replaced fan clutch, I blead cooling system, Car will run at normal temp for 30 miles, then overheat. I've spent $600 so far and can't keep paying to replace parts without problem being fixed. IS NOT THE GAUGE, ENGINE GETS REALLY HOT. I posted this last week and received good suggestions but none resolved problem. Am I missing something? I can sometimes rev engine and engine will cool for a while. Thanks and please help. email: linuxskynyrd@yahoo.com

driving there in march. Do you know any good places we could take the jeep in the mountain or dessert to see some nice scenery? Dirt roads and legal trails would be nice.

I have an '05 Jeep Liberty and it has than 30,000 mi on it. Chrysler doesn't want to stand by their warranty (so be aware!) Has anyone else had any engine problems (specifically with the oil) that are similar?

I am looking at trading my car in for a Jeep. My car is an 05 Suzuki, 39750 miles and in perfect working condition. The Cherokee is an 01 with around 80000 miles. The only reason I am interested in trading the car is that I just really like jeeps alot. Anyhow my question is about the Jeep. It has a rebuilt/restored title. It was in a "minor" accident that basically peeled the driver front fender back and munched the front corner of the hood. The bumper was crunched on the corner as well. It looks perfect now, and I drove it for about an hour and it performed flawlessly. They want 7000 for the Jeep. They showed me pictures of what the jeep looked like before the repairs and it all looked to be mostly cosmetic repairs. What do you think? Good trade? What should I try and get for my car from them. They claim its only worth 7000 but that is without seeing it. I am just a little nervous about the title. I am not to worried about reselling it in the future either.
thanks

We can hear the motor running, yet the window won't budge (obviously it's a power window). It rolled down just fine yesterday but would not go back up. HELP! If there are any suggestions as to how we can get this back up and avoid taking it to a mechanic till after the holidays, they would be much appreciated.

98 jeep wrangler with a 2.5 ltr 5 speed. I drove on the interstate this morning and didn't really notice a severe change to the response in power. however this evening on my way to a club, i couldn't get over 60 mph. with the exception of the lower gears 3000rpms is dificult to acheive. (typcal idles around 900rpms) in 4th and 5th gear around 2500 rpms is about as high as it will go. in addition to this while driving in 3rd gear and trying to go higher then 3000rpms the engine begins to sputter, but doesn't die. when in nuetral or with the clutch depressed the engine will respond well to changes in the gas pedal. But with resistence to the engine the above results apply. having only a 2.5 ltr its never been a power house. but i only really had a problem doing 70-80 with heavy winds or the top off (different aerodynamics.) So i'm asking for hints for what to look for, or ideas to resolve the problem. thanks for reading and any help you may offer.

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The A/C in both Cold and Heat settings blows very low amounts of air on the passenger side. I do not have the dual zone controls however. I have the manual, single control. However at all speeds the driver side vents blow enormous amounts of air compared to the passenger side vents. The floor vents seem to be similar however it would appear again that the driver side has more air flowing than the passenger (both front and under seat floor vents). The temperature stays constant but the air flow is extremely off.
