For a 1993 Jeep grand cherokee stock came with the 4.0 I6 but was redone for the 96 and up models.Which of these engines are better for adding power and do they both directly bolt in (my jeep) or would the "Golden" Jeep 4.0 stroked to 4.6 directly bolt in my jeep

The stroked 4.0 will cost you around 3400 bucks and it bolts right up. I'd contact the manufacture & ask if the stock injectors & fuel pump needs to be upgraded. I'd ask if the brain needs to be upgraded too. Speaking of fuel, the stroker has to run on 91 oct.

As for the stock 4.0s... when Jeep reworked the Wrangler the upgraded the motor as well, with aluminum pistons. The newer 4.0 gained 10hp.

All the aftermarket upgrades work on these engines. And all engines will bolt up to your trany.

The question now is how big is your savings account?

Hope this helps.

What Jeep do you have? Jeep placed the I6 in lots of autos, maximum exceptionally the Cherokee. Spinning tires places any motor decrease than tension. there is not any such element as a right this moment v6. maximum jeeps designed for a v6 won't settle for an I6.

I like the newer engines the best, they have better ignition systems, with no distributor, and good fuel injection.
They have slightly better exhaust manifolds which give a little more power.
Any 4.0L through 2001 will fit in place of your 1993, you might just have to through sensors and put your 1993's sensors in place to make the engine work.
