well on our chrysler the little knob thing you turned it twice

Once for parking lights
Twice for normal headlights
And then you pull the the knob out (not hard) and twist to the third click

hope it helps :)

Solution. I know this is an old thread but the problem s had me stumped for a few hours! In case someone else comes across this, on the circa 2002 euro models you DON T pull the switch out. As it says above, the light switch has three symbols, sidelights, main lights and fog lights (the fog light symbol does NOT have an arrow printed next to it) only the switch seems to stop at the second position. However, it WILL go to the foglight position but it needs to be turned hard. I think this is done to stop you inadvertently switching the fogs on. In fact it feels like you re about to snap the darn thing before it goes.

Chrysler / Mercedes light switches normally turn to the right to turn on parking lights then service lights. Then a light pull to turn on front fog lights and a pull again to second notch for rear fog lights.
Don't yank the switch out of the dash, just a pull.

Hope that helps you.

Here in Germany rear fog lights must work to pass TUV.. in the USA there is no rear fog light... things that make you go hmmmm

Happy Holidays.

Maybe the third click can be done by push in or pulling out the switch. Make sure also that the ignition key is fully turned on to operate all accessories.

fog lights, both front and rear, are NOT necessary for a car to pass an MOT
some cars have neither.
if in doubt about your switch, take to your jeep supplier, or a decent auto electrician
and they will be able to check.
