A 1997 BMW 328i Vs a 1997 VW jetta GLX VR6 in a race all around? top speed, 0 to 60, corners, everything?

After taking my car outta 5th gear when i have been driving 60 mph or more.. i notice that every time i take a left turn.. i hear a sound kinda resembling "a stick being dragged across a picket fence" type noise.. i was thinking it was something around the axle but i noticed when i turn the car off and then drive it later on that day .. i can take left turns just fine without having to hear that sound. What could be the problem and does it have something to do with the 5th gear?

I've always like beamers however my parents tell me that they are some of the most high maintenance cars out there. I talked to one of my friends who has had one for a year and hasn't taken it in a single time for a problem other than oil change etc. However I drive a caddy which requires work like 5 times a year and I don't see how it can get any worse.

Did anyone had this experience? the engine over heated during normal drive (70mph avg for about continous 65miles drive), and maybe due to some pressure the radiator shield broke a coin size hole on it, and the coolant spashed out and smoke came off the hood. The strange thing is the radiator hole, which did not happen on the pump area but on the hard plastic area, even the dealers could not explain why. I had to replace the radiator, alt pulley, alt belt. this E39 has got about 67k miles on it now.

I have a 2002 bmw 325i, and ive noticed that theres a light indicator on the "open door" screen thing. at first i thought that it wasnt a problem, until i saw it switch from being above the right rear lights, to being above the front right light, can anyone help me out, my brake lights work so i dont know whats the problem.
(my car didnt come with a manual)

All other gears work fine. If I put the car in reverse & rev the enginge I get "Transmission program" error on the dash and the car goes into limp mode (locked into 3rd gear). This all happened suddenly. transmission was working fine. I backed up, drove down the street, third gear shifted a little funny, like it was slipping. after that no reverse. all other gears including third work & shift fine. what do you think could be the problem & how do I fix it?

Simply put I am looking for a list of any special tools I might need (other than metric sockets and wrenches) to do a complete brake job on a '98 328i (rotors, pads, sensors, etc.). Also let me know where I should loosen the parking brake, I understand that the rears rotors function as a drum for the parking brake.

I have a bmw 1 series and have had two different xenons kits put on but neither were right. On the first one, one of the lights were brighter then the other. On the 2nd one (M-TEC kit) it blew the capacitors! the car id a 118d diesel. Has anybody had after market ones fitted? I want to know which ones will fit and work correctly.

Okay so I have a 1986 BMW 325i. And lately It has been acting like it is on it last legs, but I don't want to sell it. (for one I've gotten attached to it --its my first car, and two I think that it would be more fun for me to work on it)So the most I have done is change the oil on a car, that is the extent of my automotive matenince abilities, I just need to be told what to do to my car.
So here are the symptoms:
when I shift it into gear (reverse or drive) it will like bounce,
then when I'm driving just altogether it's just loud (or at least louder than a car that size should be) and I don't think it is the exaust because i just had that repaired a couple months ago. And when I floor it when I am on the freeway, or getting on the freeway, it has a bit of a delay(like a second or two).
And the air conditioning doesn't work(but the vent works and the heater works).
So what Do I need to do?

Please I will like to make sure I will put the right gas to my car I just bough it. It only says “unleaded only” but that is the cheaper gas can you please help me. Is there an specific gas station I should buy it at like Exxon, Shell and all those gas station? these lady told me to just put the 93 gas but I don’t want to put something that will damage my car please help me. What gas where to buy it.
